anthony shears on kexp

this past weekend i had the opportunity to sit in on anthony's in-studio interview and performance at the kexp radio station in seattle. i was impressed by the performance ant gave, it was definitely worth tuning into from home. kexp is filled with generous and friendly people who made us feel welcome and comfortable in their presence. although it lasted for only an hour, this was definitely a memorable moment in my life. to give you all some background, anthony is one of only few local hip-hop acts to perform at kexp. his album, the growth: my endtroduction hit stores tuesday november 13th, and his album release party was wednesday. from what i hear, he sold out in every local store he put his cd in two days in a row. i actually own an album myself, and it's no surprise to me that the album has done so well. the growth is definitely a piece of art. follow the link in the right panel to hear for yourself.

aside from the growth, ant has already began working on his follow up album called redemption, scheduled to be released in 2008 under shears music group.
as always,

peace, love, respect

power of karma

i like to think things happen for a reason, but it's a lot easier to say that when things are going your way. things have been practically upside down and backwards for us these past few weeks, and only now are things finally turning for the better. i'm a firm believer in seeing the good in everything. i lose $80, i say someone else must have needed that money more than i. i mean, how would i feel if i found $80 right? no use dreading the loss, better to save some time and move on with it. i apply the same theory to other aspects of my life, whether work, school or personal. its like a complete paradigm shift when you see how everything comes together. one moment, everything that can possibly go wrong, does, and the next, everything that seemed so wrong in that last moment makes sense, like it was meant to happen. in that moment when everything is going wrong, many lose faith and quit. only those who stick with it realize destiny and "make it". without struggle, what is success? not having something your way doesn't mean everything is ruined, it only means that the end result is much bigger than your sacrifice. so as tape and smg are getting ready for anthony j. shears' album release party for the growth: my endtroduction scheduled for nov. 14th, we know the end result will be huge because of the many sacrifices we have had to make. and if character is measured through the obstacles one overcomes, then we got a lot of it, shout out to mike.
